I help capable men understand why anxiety appears out of nowhere and how to rebuild control.
No sympathy. Just answers.

If anxiety appeared out of nowhere and nothing makes sense, this book explains what’s actually happening.

Joe Riding is a family man, former Army soldier, and high-performance coach who has spent over 15 years helping thousands of men rebuild their bodies, minds, and sense of direction. Long before he coached others, Joe was searching for answers himself.
From a young age, Joe experienced anxiety he couldn’t explain. Doctors had no clear answers, reassurance didn’t last, and the confusion stayed with him.
Years later while running a successful business and providing for his family anxiety returned in a way he never expected. Panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, depersonalisation, and periods of low mood disrupted his life and challenged everything he thought he knew about himself.
Rather than accepting that this was permanent, Joe went searching for real understanding not theories or short-term fixes, but clarity about what was actually happening inside his nervous system.
Through lived experience, practical learning, and applying the exact tools that helped him regain steadiness, Joe found his way out of the anxiety cycle. Looking back, he now sees that period as a turning point — one that reshaped his priorities, his purpose, and the work he does today.
Turbulence was written for the man Joe used to be capable, driven, and overwhelmed by something he couldn’t explain.
Today, Joe leads The Turbulence Group, helping businessmen, fathers, and high performers understand anxiety, relate to it differently, and build their next mission with clarity and confidence. His approach is calm, practical, and grounded in lived experience not theory.
Joe doesn’t teach concepts.
He teaches what helped him recover.

You’re not weak.
You just haven’t been given the right explanation yet.
